Job Summary:

The Associate Director of University Advisement and Operations is responsible for being knowledgeable and proactive in student success data collection, analytics, and interpretation of data for actionable implementation and outcomes. The Associate Director provides an integrative approach to support the department's efforts in strategic plans and initiatives in academic advising, student intervention and support, and a demonstrated standard of care for student enrollment and matriculation. The Associate Director supports the mentorship curricular areas of academic, social, professional, and policy integrations. These departmental services and programs will support student retention, student self-efficacy, and a transformational college experience, maximizing the student-centered approach and deepening connection to the Mercy University community.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their transition to the University and integrate new students into the academic, social, and professional aspects of the University, resulting in improved retention and graduation outcomes
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the University Advisement office, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advising services to students
  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor advising effectiveness, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to coordinate academic advising services across various disciplines and departments
  • Assist in the development and execution of advising-related initiatives, including orientation programs, academic workshops, and advising campaigns
  • Lead and manage professional development initiatives, ensuring team members have access to relevant training opportunities to enhance skills, foster growth, and improve overall performance
  • Provide cohort intervention programs and lead student achievement planning for probation statuses, dismissals, and other potential departures from the University
  • Intervene with holistic advice on college student readiness, including financial literacy, academic readiness, and preparatory characteristics, to identify solutions for student success
  • Provide student engagement programs and services, resulting in a quality experience for Mercy students
  • Work specifically with the assigned student caseload portfolio
  • Assist in evaluating strategies and programs and implementing changes, as necessary
  • Any other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience required
  • Experience in enrollment management, student services, or academic affairs, will be given preference
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience is required
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree preferred
