Job Summary:
Working with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for creating and executing Mercy University’s strategy to increase funding from private foundations and corporate partners.
The Executive Director identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards current and new donors.

  • Develop and execute on a comprehensive corporate and foundation giving plan with a focus on maintaining and increasing financial support from corporate and foundation partners
  • Created curated proposals and stewardship materials for effective and efficient funding opportunities
  • Represent Mercy in meetings with potential funders, aligning strategies with organizational priorities
  • Provide accurate and timely submission of all reports and documentation in collaboration with campus partners
  • Convene meetings of internal stakeholders to ensure successful proposals that provide sustainable support to Mercy
  • Promote awareness of funding opportunities to campus colleagues
  • Partner with faculty, academic and administrative leaders to align funding opportunities with University priorities
  • Facilitate collaborations between campus partners and funders to support programming
  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, proposals, submissions, and stewardship activities

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of seven years of experience managing complex corporate and foundation relationships and demonstrated success in securing corporate and foundation funding
  • Experience in higher education is preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management abilities
  • Strong understanding of fundraising best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar platforms
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and drive cross-functional initiatives
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a demonstrated ability to lead through change and ambiguity
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct
  • Strong customer service orientation and a genuine interest in advancing the mission of Mercy University
