Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Counselor is a full-time, 9-month position. Responsible for supporting the mission of the Division of Student Affairs: specifically, by providing direct care to students seeking therapy, and providing a range of clinical services to our students and college community. The Mental Health Counselor should be a high energy, positive role model who is committed to student affairs, student success and service excellence. The position involves high student contact, connections with outside referral agencies, and creativity with programming and student events.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Experience working in a clinical social service setting
  • Experience in any of the following areas of specialization is desirable: suicide risk assessment, anxiety coping skills, trauma, women’s/men’s issues, LGBTQ issues, group therapy, substance abuse, learning disabilities and anger management
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite of products and Internet required. Electronic Medical Record system proficiency preferred. 
  • Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, customer service orientation, ability to work independently, and great levels of responsibility required

Education Requirements:

  • LMSW or LMHC from an accredited four-year college required
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor Certification required

This position will require split time between the Manhattan and Dobbs Ferry Campuses as well as the ability to travel between all locations and work weekends as requested for events.
