Job Summary:

The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Mercy University invites qualified candidates to be considered for the position of Adjunct Faculty Member of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Adjunct faculty members for the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences are needed at the Dobbs Ferry, Bronx, Manhattan, and Distance Learning campuses. This position will be responsible for teaching in the undergraduate or graduate programs of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. We welcome applications from candidates with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.

This is an opportunity to join the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences in one of its fourteen programs: International Relations and Diplomacy, Sociology, Behavioral Science, Legal Studies, Undergraduate Criminal Justice, Graduate Criminal Justice, Undergraduate Psychology, Social Work, Graduate Psychology, School Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Health Services Management, Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling. Salary and rank are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on a semi-monthly pay cycle.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Candidates with a record of excellent teaching experience are strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse population of students and student success initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly with Blackboard, as well as leading virtual meetings using teleconferencing software via Zoom or similar, strongly preferred.
