The School of Business at Mercy University invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses within the Risk Management & Insurance program.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in areas such as:

 

  • Risk Management
  • Commercial Insurance
  • Enterprise Risk Management
  • Claims & Loss Control
  • Compliance & Regulatory Risk
  • Cyber Risk
  • Financial Risk
  • Healthcare Risk Management
  • Insurance Analytics
  • Related business and insurance disciplines

 

Adjunct faculty may be responsible for course development (where applicable) and subsequent instruction. Courses may be delivered in multiple modalities, including in-person at the Dobbs Ferry, Bronx, and Manhattan campuses, as well as online (synchronous and/or asynchronous).

 

Successful candidates may be assigned up to three course assignments per term, based on program needs and enrollment.

We seek instructors who demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive excellence, student engagement, and applied, practice-oriented learning.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in risk management, Insurance, FRM Certificate,  Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field   
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in risk management, insurance, compliance, financial services, or a related field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience at the college level
  • Industry certifications such as CPCU, ARM, CRM, CIC, or related credentials
  • Experience with analytics, AI applications, or emerging technologies in insurance and risk management
  • Demonstrated expertise in applied business or insurance-related practice
