Job Summary:

Mercy University seeks a dynamic, student-centered professional to join the Graduate Admissions Team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions, the Graduate Admissions Recruiter is responsible for driving enrollment growth through prospective student engagement, strategic recruitment and outreach, and support throughout the admissions funnel—from inquiry to enrollment. This position is highly visible and plays a key role in promoting Mercy’s mission and graduate program offerings through travel, presentations, and personalized follow-up.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Outreach:

  • Represent Mercy University at graduate school fairs, professional conferences, career events, and community-based organizations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with feeder institutions (e.g., colleges), employer partners, and community-based organizations to generate inquiries and applicants.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual presentations to individuals and groups about Mercy’s graduate program offerings.
  • Provide timely and accurate information about the admissions process, application requirements, program options, and tuition/scholarship opportunities.

Admissions Pipeline Management:

  • Communicate with prospective students via phone, email, text, and video to guide them through the admissions process.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress in the CRM (Slate).
  • Collaborate with program directors and faculty to ensure effective communication and appropriate follow-up with applicants.
  • Support admitted students through yield efforts including deposit and enrollment confirmation.

 

Event Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of virtual and in-person recruitment events such as open houses, information sessions, application days, undergraduate classroom visits.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and messaging aligned with event goals, enrollment targets, and application cycle timing.

Team Collaboration & Professionalism:

  • Collaborate with other recruiters and admissions staff to meet departmental pipeline goals and support team-wide initiatives.
  • Uphold Mercy’s values of inclusiveness, service, and access to education.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all internal and external interactions, maintaining a customer-service mindset and timely follow-through.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in admissions, higher education, recruitment, or related fields preferred
  • Passion for access to higher education and student success
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and goal-oriented
  • Comfortable with data entry, tracking, and reporting in a CRM system (Slate and Banner preferred, but not required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally and regionally, including some evenings and weekends
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
