Job Summary:

Mercy University invites nominations and applications for a 9-month faculty position for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at our Westchester campus (Dobbs Ferry, NY). This is an opportunity to join an engaged team of professional and dedicated colleagues in a CCNE-accredited program that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. We welcome dynamic educators to our team who want to make a difference in the lives of our diverse student body and in their profession.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

This position requires the ability teach in a variety of courses with a particular need in advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, advanced health assessment and primary care courses.  The graduate programs are taught online (experience preferred) and in person at the Dobbs Ferry Campus. Candidates should have a clinical practice (preferred). Responsibilities include teaching with an emphasis on high impact teaching practices, inclusive pedagogy, and active learning.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Teaching experience – minimum two years
  • Unencumbered NYS License
  • Have at least 1 year teaching experience in an online format
  • Experience in clinical practice as FNP is preferred
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Education Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, EdD, DSci) is required with national certification in a NP specialty (family, adult or pediatrics).

Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform tasks that may involve pushing, pulling, moving, or lifting up to 50 lbs., with reasonable accommodations as needed.
  • Must meet all role-specific general health and safety requirements in accordance with university policies and guidelines upon hire with reasonable accommodations provided as needed.
