Job Summary:
Seeking qualified candidates to join the Mercy University Accounting Program faculty team for a rank open (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor) for a 9-month appointment. Ideal candidates will have both an academic and professional background in Accounting and Taxation and be able to teach tax and other accounting courses at our physical and virtual campus locations – Westchester (Dobbs Ferry), Bronx (Waters Place), Manhattan (New York City) and Distance Learning (Online). In addition to teaching and program leadership, candidates must also be willing to participate in committee service and assist with other accounting program initiatives and activities, including, but not limited to, student internships and other job placements.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

· Teach accounting courses in tax and other areas of accounting as needed.
· Teach in-person during the day and evenings as required, at multiple campuses, and be able to teach online (in both asynchronous and synchronous formats).
· Assist with accounting program curricular and other related initiatives.
· Engage in important School and University committee service.
· Assist students in their career preparation and other student-focused activities such as mentoring and advising student organizations and clubs.
· Assist with developing and expanding employer relations for internships and job placements.
· Lead undergraduate and graduate accounting programs faculty and staff members and execute school administrative/leadership activities as needed.
· Represent and advocate for the programs both to internal and external constituencies.
· Ensure that faculty have excellent pedagogy, and function as mentor to faculty and staff members
· Function as an advocate for students within the programs and ensure that they receive appropriate instructional support and are treated equitably.
· Participate in school and university committees and assist with other accounting program initiatives and activities, including, but not limited to, student internships and other job placements.
· Function as an administrator of the programs in accomplishing necessary managerial tasks
Required Skills & Experience:
· Possess both an academic and professional background in accounting, with the ability to teach tax and other accounting courses.
· A minimum of five years of professional experience and at least two years teaching in an academic environment.?
