Position Summary
The School of Education at Mercy University is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented student worker to provide administrative and office support to the Associate Deans at the Dobbs Ferry campus. The student worker will assist with office operations and provide general administrative support to help ensure the School of Education’s academic activities run smoothly. This position provides professional experience in an academic administrative environment while developing skills in communication, organization, customer service, and office management.
Essential Responsibilities
The Student Worker may assist with the following duties:
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Associate Deans.
- Organize, file, scan, and maintain documents and office records.
- Assist with preparing materials, correspondence, forms, reports, and presentations.
- Respond to routine inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and visitors and direct questions to the appropriate office or staff member.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, and maintaining calendars as directed.
- Support School of Education events, meetings, orientations, and other activities.
- Assist with data entry and updating spreadsheets, databases, and departmental records.
- Help maintain an organized and welcoming office environment.
- Sort and distribute mail and other materials as needed.
- Assist with special projects and other administrative tasks assigned by the Associate Deans.
- Ability to work at the Dobbs Ferry campus. The specific work schedule will be arranged based on the student worker's class schedule and the needs of the School of Education.
Qualifications
- Current Mercy University student in good academic standing.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional and courteous communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, including email, Word/Docs, and Excel/Sheets.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling student, faculty, or administrative information.
- Previous office, customer service, or administrative experience is helpful but not required.
