The School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy University invites qualified candidates for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology in the Department of Natural Sciences beginning Fall 2025 for a one-year position.
This position primarily focuses on teaching excellence in general biology and other upper-level biology courses within one or more of the biology tracks (general biology track, biomedical sciences, animal sciences, and biology education tracks). The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, impactful service to the University community, and mentoring of undergraduate students.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience with innovative classroom approaches for promoting student success such as course-based undergraduate research experiences, curriculum development, encouraging classroom inclusivity, and high-impact pedagogical approaches. We seek faculty who welcome opportunities to engage with diverse students and colleagues, who incorporate inclusive pedagogical practices into their teaching, and who are committed to ensuring that all students succeed.
