Job Summary:
Mercy University seeks a dynamic, energetic and inspirational individual to join our team as the Assistant Director of Admissions for Suffolk County Long Island. This is a highly visible position responsible for increasing awareness and building enthusiasm for Mercy University through student recruitment initiatives, outreach and communication, and specialized events. The Assistant Director develops partnerships with high schools, counselors, and local college preparatory organizations in Suffolk County Long Island NY. The Assistant Director assists in oversight of the daily operations of the Dobbs Ferry Admissions office including management of the recruitment calendar, work schedules, campus tours and oversight of the student ambassador program. This position works closely with the other Admissions staff at each campus and facilitates campus visits and events. While generating interest and excitement for the Mercy College experience, this position will also encompass strategic management of recruitment efforts and on-going analysis of the progress of the territory enrollment goals.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem solving, coaching, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Strong and inspirational communication skills, vibrant personality, attention to detail, and strong problem solving skills are essential
  • Supervision of a team of admissions recruiters
  • Oversee daily operations for a staff
  • Demonstrated evidence of sales orientation, creativity and enthusiasm
  • Possess an abundance of enthusiasm and maintain a positive disposition
  • Ability to demonstrate competitive nature, self-direction, motivation and a sense of urgency to achieve goals
  • Proven resiliency in maintaining a spirited approach to recruitment
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and Outlook required and ability to learn new software specially (Banner and Slate)
  • Ability to travel on a daily basis and work weekends and evenings

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
